Indian Borage Mosquito Balm

Chases away mosquitoes and soothes existing insect bites

Equipment

  • 1 Mortar and pestle
  • 1 Small Strainer or cheese cloth

Materials

  • 5 leaves Indian Borage
  • 2 tbsp Extra Virgin Coconut Oil

Instructions

  • Collect Indian Borage leaves, wash and pat dry.
  • Grind the leaves up with mortar and pestle to get the juice.
  • Strain the juice into a small container to get the solids out.
  • Mix in 2 tbsp of extra virgin coconut oil into the indian borage juice evenly.
  • Cool the mixture in the fridge. Once the coconut oil has set, it will be a balm for mosquito repelling and soothing mosquito/insect bites.

Notes

  • Keep the balm refrigerated in order to keep it fresh. The balm will last around 2-3 weeks easily in the fridge.
  • Coconut oil has antimicrobial and healing properties so this balm is also good for for the skin irritation that results from mosquito bites.
